Economy Impacts: Ocean pH

The oceans have absorbed a significant portion of the carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere by human activities. Dissolved carbon dioxide decreases the ocean pH. Impacts on ecosystems can harm fishery-based economies and tourism.
